A connection to the service for performing the transmission is only made if an enquiry criterion defined by the information is met. The access device signals a connection set-up to the server, the server evaluates the appended call number belonging to the access device, and creates the connection if the enquiry criterion defined by the information is present. If it is not present, the connection is not made. For transmitting the information, the server signals a connection set-up to the access device with a known call number. This number has an entry in a telephone directory in the access device, which is output so that the connection can be signalled and made by the access device.
