An asthma treating composition comprising a found in inflammatory zone(FIZZ) protein is provided to be able to effectively prevent or treat respiratory disease carrying various symptoms such as dyspnoea, cough, wheezing, sputum, and tightness of the chest. The composition for preventing and treating asthma comprises a FIZZ protein which is FIZZ1 or FIZZ2. The composition includes a nucleic acid having a nucleotide sequence encoding the FIZZ protein.
