The assembly to shape and stamp out containers, from a thermoplastic film, has a combined mold/stamp with two mold sections. The molding station has two tables, and a common motor drive gives the stamping movement and sets the gap between the two tables. The drive (32) for the stamping movement, and to set the gap between the two tables (10,12), engages the table (10) which is not used for the closing movement of the mold. The drive (32) has a servo motor to drive roller ball spindles or the spindles (30) of a threaded roller spindle drive, together with a fitted nut (29). The nuts (29) are mounted to bolts (27) within bushes (28) at the fixed upper table (12), mounted to a common plate (26) at the upper section (10) of the stamp/mold. All the spindles (30) work together through the drives from chains, toothed belts or universal joints. The control is structured so that the values for the stroke movements of the drive (32) and the position of the plate (26) are set and varied, and can be stored.
