A dissecting aortic aneurysm treating instrument comprising an improved balloon catheter that is used for an early treatment of aneurysm, especially dissecting aortic aneurysm, without depending on a surgical treatment, and has at the tip end thereof an expansible bag-like element attached thereto, characterized in that the bag-like element is in a flattened film shape when no fluid is received therein while in a tubular shape when fluid is received therein, and the inner film and the outer film constituting the bag-like element are partially joined.
