An air conditioner for vehicle having heat pump cycle which is capable of selectively increasing a heating performance on the front and rear seat sides of a vehicle, comprising a front air conditioner unit and a rear air conditioner unit, wherein an evaporator and a front sub condenser are provided in the front air conditioner unit, a rear sub condenser is provided in the rear air conditioner unit and, in a front seat priority heating operation, a medium compressed by a compressor is fed to the front sub condenser for heat radiation, fed to the evaporator for heat absorption after decompressed, and returned to the compressor through an outside condenser whereas, in a rear seat priority heating operation, the medium compressed by the compressor is fed to the rear condenser for heat radiation, fed to the evaporator for heat absorption after decompressed, and returned to the compressor through the outside condenser.
