PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved copper foil which is excellent in bendability and free from degradation of other characteristics by providing oil pits formed in the cold rolling with the specified depth. SOLUTION: The copper foil has oil pits of <=2.0μm in depth. Preferably, the maximum height (Ry) measured in the direction parallel to the rolling direction by using a contact roughness meter is <= 2.0μm on a cold rolled surface, and I/Io is >20, where I is the intensity of the surface (200) obtained through the X-ray diffraction after the annealing for recrystallized structure and Io is the intensity of the (200) surface obtained through the X-ray diffraction of line powder copper, and the rolled copper foil is <=18μm in thickness. Generation of oil pits is affected by the rolling conditions including the diameter of a rolling roll, the roughness of a surface of the rolling roll, the draft, the rolling speed, and the viscosity of a rolling oil, and the frequency and the mode of the oil pits can be controlled by adjusting the conditions.
