PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance lighting brightness and suppress light interference fringes in a sheet-like lighting system, which lights a liquid crystal panel disposed near a transparent substrate, by lighting the transparent substrate. SOLUTION: In a sheet-like lighting system including a square transparent substrate 2 disposed near the surface of a liquid crystal panel 1 and a fluorescent tube 3 serving as a linear light source at the side face of the transparent substrate 2, a plurality of straight grooves 2a are formed slantwise with respect to four sides at the surface of the transparent substrate 2. Although light converges only with respect to a vertical component of the groove 2a, the grooves 2a cross according to the present invention, so that all of lights different in direction can converge, thereby remarkably enhancing brightness. Furthermore, the crossing grooves 2a can suppress a light interference fringes. |
