Method for demonstrating the process of protein synthesis comprises (a) formation of a homopolypeptide (I) from a poly nucleotide source; and (b) complexing of the (I) with an anti-(I) antibody from an antibody source and with an enzyme capable of inducing a colour reaction. - Method for demonstrating the particular condons used to prepare a partic. amino acid sequence comprises (a) incubation of a mixt. of mRNA-free reticulocyte lysate with a codon-contg. polynucleotide contg. at least 1 codon coding for the amino acid sequence; and (b) complexing of the sequence with an indicator to permit observation that the partic. sequence has been formed from the codon.
