<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively grasp how the facilities, commodities, services, etc., are related to each other in the city functions by selecting the data on an optional hierarchy among those data related to each other in a tree form and displaying the selected hierarchic data together with the data on higher and lower hierarchies close to the selected hierarchy on a screen in a tree form. SOLUTION: A user selects the data on an optional sorting hierarchy among the data related to each other in a tree form, reads a map including the part corresponding to the selected hierarchy out of a map data memory and displays the map on the screen of a display device with the farther areas compressed more at their upper sides. Then the user reads the selected hierarchy and the representative data corresponding to the higher and lower hierarchies close to the selected one out of a data base and displays these data at the relative positions on a displayed map screen and in the order of hierarchies. The hierarchies are divided into three sections, i.e., a city block 1, a city block 2 and facilities included in the city blocks, and the names of wider area are shown at the upper sides respectively at each position accordant with the reduction scale of the map with the images of nearby facilities, etc., shown at the lower sides of the screen.</p> |
