PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera having high image quality at a low cost by applying pseudo 3-board processing to an image picked up by an image pickup element of at least a single board. SOLUTION: This electronic camera, provided with an image pickup element 12 consisting of a single board and with pixels having provision for any of at least three different color information sets, is provided with an interpolation means 90 that uses pixel values with the same color information as the color information of the pixels for generating a plane corresponding to all pixel numbers through the interpolation processing by an approximate expression of a third order or higher of a higher degree polynomial.
