Solvent extraction of liqs - using a dispersion technique

A process and appts. for the solvent extraction of immiscible liqs. of various spec. grs., disperses the mother liquor to be treated and the solvent(s) into a gas or vapour. The liquor/solvent(s) are conveyed in parallel or counter stream. Dispersion is carried out in a cooled or heated chamber, pref. > f.pt. of the highest freezing liq. or b.p. of the lowest boiling liq., using atomisation, a solvent of high dispersive tension, a press. process etc. The dispersed system is broken up by condensn. and the phases thereby separated. Th simple, rapid efficient process and inexpensive appts. are esp. suited to the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, household chemical and foodstuffs inds.
