<p>In a method of selecting one of a plurality of items, each item is labelled by a respective string of indices. The method comprises j steps, i=1,...,j, of selecting one of a plurality of ranges of possible values for the i-th index. Then, the method determines whether, for any of the items, the first j indices of the string are all respectively within the j selected ranges.</p> |
