PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DNA fragment which contains a promotor of Δ1- pyrroline-5-carboxylate synthetase gene, controls the expression of a gene by an environmental stress, can protect a useful plant from an environmental stress, and is useful for developing a new breed and so on. SOLUTION: This DNA fragment contains a promotor of Δ1-pyrroline-5- carboxylate synthetase gene derived from Arabidopsis thaliana. This DNA fragment has the base sequence from 649th to 1470th shown by the formula. It is preferable to prepare a sensor plant by providing a replication-initiating point for autonomously replicating in a host cell and integrating the DNA fragment into a plasmid having an appropriate marker such as chemical tolerance, preparing a vector for plant cell, followed by fransducing the DNA fragment into a gene capable of colorizing the plant tissue. |
