PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and rotational accuracy by providing a band brake device formed by a shaft member provided on a support member to which a rotary member is fitted, and a band brake member having male and female members, which interlocks with the rotary member. SOLUTION: A band brake member 4 is formed by a shaft member 2 provided on a support member 1 and a male member 5 which interlocks with the shaft member 2 to rotate similarly and disposed in a position corresponding to the shaft member 2. A rotary member 3 is fitted to the support member 1 through the shaft member 2 to rotate, and the male member 5 is fitted to a female member 6 interlocking with the rotary member 3. Thus, a fixed mechanism and a rotary mechanism are separated from each other. Accordingly, the rotational accuracy of the shaft member can be easily maintained, a fitting clearance between the male member and the female member can be made smaller, and the contact surface which is substantially overall surface contact increases the frictional area of the male member and the female member to generate strong fixing force, thereby remarkably improving the operability.
