PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic original transport device capable of reducing noise of a device by performing an initial operation only when a predetermined condition is satisfied, and to provide an image forming device and an image reading device.SOLUTION: An automatic original transport device 5 is included in an image forming device that may have an energy saving state where a part of power supply of a device is cut off, and is powered on when the image forming device is powered on or is recovered from the energy saving state. The automatic original transport device includes control means receiving a power-on signal output when the image forming device is powered on and an energy saving recovery signal output when the image forming device is recovered from the energy saving state while distinguishing the signals from each other. The control means executes an initialization operation for initializing each part of the automatic original transport device 5 when the power-on signal is received.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
