PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope tool allowing a user save him/herself by stopping with optimal comfortableness in the case of falling without being obstructed by a rope at the time of using it normally. SOLUTION: A rope tool is provided with a seating tool 12, a pair of shoulder straps 14, 16 fixed to the front and rear part of a belt 18, and an offset fixing piece 40 formed with an auxiliary extension strap. The piece 40 has a first fixed end 42 fixedly attached in front of the rope tool and a second fixed end 44 positioned in rear of the rope tool. The piece 40 is overlapped with one of the straps 14, 16 by a detachable holding part which can exist at a fixed contact position or a releasing position depending on whether tension acted on the piece 40 is smaller or larger than a preset threshold. Movement from the fixed contact position to the releasing position, which is executed following the falling or manually causes the separation of the second terminals of the straps 14, 16 and the forward movement of the fixing piece.
