METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MAPPING SAMPLE ON RENDERING PIPELINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generalize a format by reading each sample from a memory into a mapping unit, extracting a field from each sample with a correspondent subscriber and sending out the extracted field parallel with a rendering pipeline. SOLUTION: Multiplexers 525 and 580 select a processing order through an interpolation stage and a classification stage and scales 531-533 are coupled to a mapping device and an interpolating device by the multiplexer 525. The output of a scaler is used for indexing look-up tables(LUT) 541-544. The outputs of the LUT 541-544 are processed through a multiplexer 545 by field mapping devices 551-554 and the output is coupled by the chain net of an arithmetic logic unit(ALU) for generating the sample weighted with opacity. The result of classification is routed by a path to a multiplexer on the top hierarchy of an interpolating device 520.
