PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a severing saw of low noises with a long service life. SOLUTION: A guide sleeve 13 extended almost parallel with a plunger 20 supported in a freely reciprocated manner inside the gear cover 6 and holding a blade 27 at the tip, is fitted into the gear cover 6 so as to be swingable around a fulcrum near the tip of the plunger 20 to apply swinging motion to the plunger 20. A cylindrical elastic member 30 is provided between the internal wall of a gear cover 6 and the tip sidle outer periphery of the guide sleeve 13, and the outer periphery of the cylindrical elastic member 30 is partially brought into close contact with the internal wall of the gear cover 6.
