PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire connection device capable of improving the release of a wire. SOLUTION: This device is provided with, a terminal fitting 1 having a conductive piece 1a', a bent piece 1d with a wire insertion hole 1c formed, and a lock piece 1f, an insulating terminal cover 3 having a terminal receiving part 3h for receiving the terminal fitting 1, and a wire insertion hole 3c adaptable to the wire insertion hole 1c, and a release operation means 4 for elastically deforming the vicinity of the bent part 1e of the bent piece 1d and the lock piece 1f in the direction opposite to the insertion direction of a wire 2 to an extent capable of extracting the wire 2 from the lock piece 1f. The terminal cover 3 is provided with a space 3g for moving the vicinity of the bent part 1e pressed against the inside surface of a wall 3b having the wire insertion hole 3c by the release operation means 4.
