PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synchronize databases without increasing transmit information as to a database synchronizing method which stores setting information and a monitor and control system. SOLUTION: By this synchronizing method, a transmission device 5 with a database 7 and a monitor and control unit 1 having a database 2 stored with setting information corresponding to the transmission device are connected through a data communication channel 4; when the setting information stored in the database 7 is modified by updating or addition, an update number control part 10 increases an update number, adds it to the setting information to obtain log data, and transmits the setting information to which the update number is added to the monitor and control unit 1. The monitor and control unit 1 compares the update number of the log data with the update number from the transmission device 5 by an update number comparison control part 9 to stores the setting data in the database 2 and update the log data when the difference is 1, or gather the setting information corresponding to the update number between update numbers and update the database 2 when the difference is 2.
