PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-zinc based ferrite electromagnetic wave absorber, which is improved in shock resistance, large in breakdown toughness, and hard to be chipped or cracked. SOLUTION: This electronic wave absorber is made of a nickel-zinc based ferrite which has iron oxide, zinc oxide, nickel oxide, and copper oxide as the main constituents. In the nickel-zinc based ferrite electromagnetic wave absorber, Fe2O3: 48-50 mol.%, ZnO: 30-34 mol.%, NiO: 10-15 mol.%, CuO: 1-7 mol.% are respectively used as main constituents, and vanadium oxide is contained in it by 0.2 wt.% or less (but without including 0 wt.%) in terms of V2O5 conversion as a plate-shaped sintered body.
