摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce drag torque without reducing transmission torque by mounting an annular baffle plate on the inside at the end opposite to a turbine of the core ring of a pump shell. SOLUTION: A drive unit for automobile comprises an internal combustion engine 2, a fluid coupling 4, and a friction clutch 6, and the pump 41 side of the fluid coupling 4 is mounted on the end of a crankshaft 21. The fluid coupling 4 comprises the pump 41 and a turbine 42 arranged opposite to the pump 41, and the pump 41 comprises a cup-like pump shell 411 having an annular core ring 411a and a plurality of impellers 412 arranged radially within the pump shell 411. An annular baffle plate 413 is fixed to the inside at the end opposite to the turbine 42 of the core ring 411a of the pump 41 by welding or the like so as to protrude into a fluid passage to reduce the drag torque.
