PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and apparatus for manufacturing a metalized film for capacitors which exhibits superior capacitor element forming properties, pulse current resisting properties, and moisture resisting properties by forming a metalized film which is hard to have damages, flaking, and loss due to chemical reactions, and by increasing adhesion between respective layers. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a metalized film for capacitors comprises a first step of forming a masking oil layer on at least a portion of high molecular film 11, a second step of forming a metal-deposited layer on the portion of the film 11 other than the portion where the masking oil layer is formed by deposition a metal on the film 11, and a third step of removing the masking oil layer from the film 11. In the third step, it is prefereble to remove the masking oil layer by subjecting the film 11 to a discharge step, and as the discharge step, glow discharge step is preferable.
