PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrostatic ink jet head at a low cost by bonding first and second glass substrates. SOLUTION: The ink jet head comprises a first glass substrate 1, i.e., a liquid chamber substrate having an ejection chamber, a diaphragm, and the like, and a second glass substrate 2, i.e., an electrode substrate provided with an electrode on the underside of the glass substrate 1. A through hole 10 for forming an ejection opening 6 and a through hole 11 for forming a common ink chamber 8 are made in the first glass substrate 1, a diaphragm 12 forming the wall face of the ejection opening 6 is provided on the side face of the second glass substrate 2 coated with an SiO2 film 13. A recess 14 is made in the second glass substrate 2, an electrode 15 is provided oppositely to the diaphragm 12 on the bottom face of the recess 14 and a gap 16 is formed between the diaphragm 12 and the electrode 15. The first and second glass substrates 1, 2 are bonded through the SiO2 film 13.
