PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a functional beverage or food containing mineral, capable of keeping clear aqueous solution without depending on pH. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a functional beverage, when an oxide or/and a carbonate of an alkaline earth metal such as calcium or magnesium is dissolved in water, weathered reef building coral is added thereto and a ratio of oxide or/and carbonate of calcium or magnesium to weathered reef building coral is set to (0.01-1) to (5-9.99).
