PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition wherein high transparency, scuff resistance, durability and antistatic function are made compatible with one another, by including a heteropoly acid and/or a heteropoly acid salt. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including a heteropoly acid and/or a salt thereof. This composition is desirable to comprise (A) 10 to 80 wt.% of inorganic oxide minute particles (on a solid basis), (B) 20 to 90 wt.% of a silane compound having at least one polymerizable reactive group (e.g. vinyltrialkoxysilan) (on a solid basis) and (C) 0.5 to 30 wt.% of a heteropoly acid and/or a salt thereof (on a solid basis). The component A is e.g. SiO2, ZrO2, TiO2, SnO2, Sb2O5, CeO2, Al2O3, ZnO. The component C is e.g. phosphotungstic acid (ammonium salt), silicotungstic acid, phosphomolybdic acid (ammonium salt).
