PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method for a synthetic resin worked metallic material by which the cleaning time is remarkably reduced and the operability of the cleaning operation can be improved, moreover, the amt. of a cleaning agent to be used can exceedingly be reduced to remarkably reduce the burden of waste water discharging treatment, and furthermore, a peeled synthetic resin can be reutilized since a synthetic resin adhered to a synthetic resin worked metallic material is previously heated at the temp. equal to or below the decomposing temp., is melted and peeled and is then subjected to alkali cleaning. SOLUTION: This method comprises a heating stage in which a synthetic resin worked metallic material adhered with a synthetic resin is heated to a temp. equal to or below the decomposing temp. of the synthetic resin and also to the one in which at least the synthetic resin can physically be peeled from the synthetic resin worked metallic material, a peeling stage in which the synthetic resin heated to a state in which it can physically be peeled from the synthetic resin worked metallic material in the heating stage and is physically peeled, and a dipping stage in which the synthetic resin worked metallic material in which the synthetic resin has been peeled in the peeling stage is dipped into fused alkali.
