PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard sole having high holding force of a heel, integrally moldable. SOLUTION: This hard sole is made of an unfoamed body of a thermoplastic resin. A sole section 1 supporting the bottom face of a foot is integrally molded from a toe tip section to the rear end of a heel section, and a heel counter section 2 holding the heel of a foot is molded integrally with the sole section 1. The heel counter section 2 is continuously formed with a counter lower section 21 swollen outward toward the upper portion from the end of the sole section 1 and a counter upper section 22 curved inward toward the upper portion from the counter lower section. The back face of the heel counter section 2 is notched nearly at the center to a lower end section or to the vicinity of the lower end section.
