A sweeping machine 1 is described, which can be used at the same time for cleaning and strewing. The sweeping machine comprises a rotating broom 2 for removal of dirt and old litter from the sleeping stalls 11. The sweeping machine comprises a container 4, which contains litter 15 and possibly a bacteria-inhibiting agent 40. This container is emptied via an outlet 6 with a rotating broom, which distributes the litter and the bacteria- inhibiting agent at its rear side 14, while at the same time the broom at the front side 9 removes the old litter. In this way, it is possible to perform several functions in a single work operation. <IMAGE>
