PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame retardant resin composition which is made flame- retardant without using a halogen-based flame retardant. SOLUTION: A flame retardant is mixed with a resin component containing a polyester-based resin and a styrene-based resin. The flame retardant is composed of a phosphorous-containing compound and an aromatic resin (a resin having a hydroxyl group and/or an amino group-containing aromatic ring, an aromatic nylon, a polycarbonate resin, a polyarylate resin, an aromatic epoxy resin, and a polyphenylene oxide resin). The obtained flame retardant resin composition may contain 0.1 to 100 pts.wt. of flame retardant based on 100 pts.wt. of the resin component. The flame retardant may contain 1 to 500 pts.wt. of the phosphorous-containing compound based on 100 pts.wt. of the aromatic resin.
