PURPOSE: A recognizing device is provided to make a driver recognize operation exactly without error. CONSTITUTION: Both accelerator/brake alarm lamps(12,13) are mounted near an accelerator pedal(2) and a brake pedal(3) respectively or immediately on a pedal to light the lower end of a driver. The two alarm lamps are connected to a night headlight switch(4) in a light case. The light case adjusts the light amount by fixing an indicator lamp interrupt film between the maximum and minimum states through a lever. The light case is adhered to an angle adjustment support to adjust the irradiation angle. A photo interrupt outputs an electric signal to a Schmidt trigger circuit(100-3) when a part of a human body including feet before stepping on the pedal or the feet stepped on the pedal change infrared LED(light emission diode) light of optical sensors(100-a,100-b). The signal is normalized and used to operate accelerator/brake operation indicator lamps(12-1,13-1). The signal is outputted to a circuit for helping the driver recognize pedal operation after reaction timing is adjusted in a time delay circuit(R). According to the signal, accelerator/brake alarm sound circuits(12-2,13-2) make alarm sounds through a speaker(18).
