PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix type tool magazine to contain tools in high density in a space saving manner. SOLUTION: This matrix type tool magazine is so formed that tool containing parts to feed a tool to the main spindle of a machine tool through an automatic tool exchange device are aligned in a matrix-form state. A tool containing part 20 forms a tool containing space 23 and is provided with a grasping part 24 to removably grasp the tools 6 and 7. Rhombic containing parts are continuously aligned in an obliquely adjoining state.
