LATENTLY CRIMPABLE CONJUGATE YARN AND NONWOVEN FABRIC USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a latently crimpable conjugate yarn suitable for producing a nonwoven fabric having bulkiness and excellent feeling, capable of developing crimp by heat treatment and a nonwoven fabric using the latently crimpable conjugate yarn. SOLUTION: This latently crimpable conjugate yarn is a conjugate yarn comprising a propylene copolymer as a first component 2 which has a melting point Tm ( deg.C) of 120<=Tm<=147 and is composed of 90-98 wt.% of propylene and 2-10 wt.% of anα-olefin except propylene and a polyethylene as a second component 1. The conjugate form of the first component 2 and the second component 1 is an eccentric sheath core type in which the second component 1 is arranged on the sheath side and the area ratio of the first component 2 to the second component 1 in the cross section of the fiber is 65/35 to 35/65.
