PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent uplift of a pipe by molding an embedding material for a concrete slab, which is a synthetic resin expansion-molded item, and forming a suitable number of grooves which can house facility pipes in a surface of the embedding material. SOLUTION: A box-shaped embedding material 10 formed of expanded polystyrene or the like is molded, and longitudinal grooves 11 and transverse grooves 12 for housing facility pipes P are formed in a surface thereof. Thin plate-like ribs 13, 14 are integrally molded in the respective grooves 11, 12 so as to protrude from both side walls toward the central portion of each groove. The ribs 13, 14 are arranged at suitable intervals. The distance between both front ends of the opposed ribs 13 in each groove 11 is made slightly narrower than the diameter of the single facility pipe P, while the distance between both front ends of the opposed ribs 14 in each groove 12 is made slightly narrower than the sum of the diameters of the two facility pipes P. Further, when the single pipe P is housed in the groove 11, it is press-fitted into the groove against a frictional force at the front ends of the fibs 13, and held in a state where free movement of the pipe P is restricted. Therefore, the uplift of pipes housed in the grooves due to buoyant force is restrained.
