PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a computer and other devices included in a system by clearly generating a Japanese syllable from a key stroke pair whose order is defined on a small-sized keyboard. SOLUTION: Data are inputted to this system from which ambiguity is swept through key input by a small-sized keyboard 54. When a user performs continuous key inputs by using the keyboard, a text is shown on the display 53 of a telephone. In a device having only a limited display space, only the currently selected or words that seem to be an object most are shown at an insertion point 88 of the text under generation. When keys for inputting a desired word are continuously pressed down, the most possible word corresponding to a series of inputs is shown in a certain characteristic format. A currently inputted word is shown accompanying an underline composed of a dotted line, and the underline composed of the dotted line is changed into an underline composed of a solid line after a selection key 60 or a conversion key 62 is pressed down. |
