PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a production method of the device in which the quantity of returning light entering a TFT(thin film transistor) is decreased so as to prevent deterioration in the characteristics of the TFT. SOLUTION: A light-shielding thin film 2 is formed by forming a silicide film on a transparent substrate 1 and a polysilicon film covering the upper part of the silicide film, and a polysilicon film 3 is formed to cover the upper part of the light-shielding film 2. By constituting the lightshielding film of the light-shielding thin film 2 and the polysilicon film 3, the effect of shielding light for the polysilicon layer 5 for TFT formed with the transparent insulating film 4 on the light-shielding film can be enhanced, and enough heat resistance and adhesion property can be obtained in the production process of TFTs. |
