PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk recording device having a function which detects invalid recording state such as soundlessness, stops the recording and separates the invalid recording part from the valid recording part. SOLUTION: This disk recording and reproducing device 1 is provided with a disk 11b which has a program area and UTOC area which are capable of recording and reproducing, as a recording medium. In the disk recording and reproducing device 1, recording control is performed by a system controller 4 in accordance with the detection output of a level detector 3 which detects the sound level which is indicated by audio data which are recorded on the program area. When the time during which the sound level is less than the prescribed level attains the prescribed value, the recording of the audio data is stopped and the UTOC data which is recorded in the UTOC area are rewritten so as to split the data for the last prescribed hours of the audio data as other music. |
