<p>A diaphragm pump comprises a front cover 10 having axially aligned inlet and outlet ports 18,20 leading to inlet and outlet chambers (22,24) respectively, and a back cover 12 housing a wobble plate (40) with reciprocating piston sections (44) connected, via mating cruciform-shape lugs (46) and slots (48), to corresponding circular regions (16) of a flexible diaphragm plate (14) which extends between the front and back covers 10,12. Nutating motion of the wobble plate (40) causes reciprocation of the circular regions (16) of the diaphragm plate (14), drawing fluid from the inlet chamber (22) past a plurality of concave resilient valves 36 in corresponding dished inlet valve seats 34 in a valve housing (26), and pumping it to the outlet chamber (24) past a concave resilient valve (30) in a dished outlet valve seat (28) also in the valve housing (26).</p> |
