PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a layout of a self-propelled type root vegetable harvester having a mechanism in which an operating part can be brought near to a traveling part as much as possible when performing no operation such as the time of moving and, on the other hand, the operating part can moderately be extended to one side of no driver's seat of the right and left according to the necessity of operating during the operations. SOLUTION: This self-propelled root vegetable harvester is capable of digging up a root vegetable in an operating part 10 on one side of right and left of a traveling machine, conveying the dug root vegetable to the rear, carrying out cutting of a leaf part of the root vegetable and placing a root part on a container arranged on the other side. In the harvester, the operating part 10 is composed so that the position thereof can be regulated in the right and left direction and a hydraulic cylinder 62 for regulating the right and left position is arranged in the vicinity of a vertical rotational fulcrum of the operating part 10.
