Automatic advisory messages generating method for pharmacy patients, involves capturing data record transmitted to pharmacy computer by advisory computer to extract patient specific information from captured record

The method involves appending patient specific information to a data record containing normally transmitted information at a third party computer (100) and transmitting the data record between the third party computer and the pharmacy computer (200) during a pharmacy transaction. The data record is then captured by the advisory computer (300) and advisory message is generated by advisory computer. The generated advisory message is then transmitted to the pharmacy printer. Appending patient specific information comprises appending any one of a patient greeting, doctor's appointment remainder, billing information, promotional materials, information concerning related products, information concerning related discounts, government warnings and new items. An Independent claim is also included for system for generating advisory messages.
