PURPOSE: A character broadcasting service apparatus is provided to realize a teletext broadcasting without a teletext exclusive processor and to realize a simple hardware. CONSTITUTION: A demultiplexer(100) receives information such as audio, video, teletext, and so on, and demultiplexes only user-needed data. A teletext(TTX) queue(150) stores teletext data demultiplexed by the demultiplexer(100). A TTX buffer(160) buffers the teletext data stored in the TTX queue(150) under the control of the CPU(122), and a TTX GLUE(130) generates a DMA control signal and a clock signal for outputting parallel teletext data stored in the TTX buffer(160). A DMA controller(120) receives the DMA control signal from the TTX GLUE(130) and simultaneously outputs the teletext data stored in the TTX buffer(160) without control of the CPU. A FIFO(132) receives the teletext data from the TTX buffer(160) in parallel and output the received teletext data in series. A video encoder(140) receives and encodes the teletext data outputted in series from the FIFO(132) and output an analog signal as an encoding result.
