The invention relates to a wheelchair with a frame, a pair of non-steerable wheels of a large diameter, a pair of steerable, swiveled wheels of a small diameter, a seat part, a back rest part and a footrest. The aim of the invention is to provide a wheelchair that can be easily converted from a vehicle whose wheels are mounted at the front to a wheelchair whose wheels are mounted at the back, and vice versa, with only a view alterations. To this end, two parallel frame elements are mounted to the left and to the right of the seat part. Said frame elements extend in a substantially horizontal direction with regard to the direction of travel and are configured as connection tubes (1) that are open to the exterior. Both the back rest part and the footrest are provided with respective two insertable connection ends (2a, 3a) that can be inserted into the connection tubes from the front or from the rear. The connection tubes (1) that extend to the left and to the right of the seat part are interlinked via transversal bars (4, 5), the ends of said transversal bars (4, 5) being provided with bores (6, 7) that correspond to the cross-section of the insertable connection ends (2a, 3a). The insertable connection ends (2a, 3a) are linked with receiving tubes (8, 9) for the frame of the back rest part or the frame of the footrest, which receiving tubes are arranged transversally to the longitudinal direction of the insertable connection ends (2a, 3a). The wheelchair is further provided with devices (10, 11, 12) for arresting the insertable connection ends (2a, 2a) in the connection tube (1) or for arresting the frames of the back rest part and the footrest in the receiving tubes (8, 9) in the longitudinal direction in a graded or continuous manner. |
