PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly accurate image by scanning the large quantity of information at high speed and extremely reducing the spot size of a laser beam and also to inexpensively manufacture an optical scanner as for the optical scanner used in an image setter which supplies an output to a large-size recording medium. SOLUTION: An optical scanning unit 23 is constituted by disposing a mirror reflection surface position detecting sensor 60 in the vicinity of a scanning mirror 46 and integrally covering an optical scanning module 30 including the sensor 60 with a narrow casing 31. The optical scanner is constituted by disposing plural optical scanning units 23 in parallel in a scanning direction. The reflection surfaces 46a of the scanning mirrors 46 of the plural optical scanning units 23 are synchronized, so that a recording medium is simultaneously scanned with the laser beam 41 from each optical scanning unit 23. |
