PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely improve the ratio of removing burn stuck at the cutting off time by rapidly cooling the burr developed at the gas-cutting time and applying the hitting force to the hardened burr with a hammer, etc. SOLUTION: A continuously cast slab 1 is gas-cut and conveyed on a roller table 8. When the front end part of the cast slab is detected with a cast slab detecting sensor 11 for stopping at the front end part, the convey of the cast slab 1 is stopped and water 13 is spouted from a spray nozzle 10 arranged in a spray header tube 9 toward the burr 2 part from the lower side of the cast slab 1 for about 10-30 sec. Successively, when the cast slab 1 is conveyed and the rear end part of the cast slab 1 is detected with a cast slab detecting device 12 for stopping at the rear end part, as in the same way as the front end portion of the cast slab 1, the water 13 is spouted onto the burr part 2. This cast slab 1 is conveyed to a deburring device and a rotor 4 disposing the hammer 3 on the circumference is raised and rotated to hit the burr 2. Since the hit burr 2 is cooled and embrittled with the sprayed water 13, the burr is surely separated and removed from the cast slab 1.
