PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display device for detecting an object existing in the traveling direction of a vehicle, and for allowing a driver to easily and accurately capture the peripheral situation. SOLUTION: An object existing in the traveling direction of a vehicle is extracted from a picture obtained by a camera loaded on a vehicle, and the position is detected. A display screen 41 of a head-up display is divided into three regions, and a picture obtained by the camera and the emphasized picture of an object existing in an approach deciding region set in the traveling direction of the vehicle are displayed in a central region 41a. Also, icons ICR and ICL corresponding to objects existing in intrusion deciding regions set outside the approach judging region are displayed in a right region 41b and left region 41c.
