PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain most suitable distribution of illuminating light for an object according to the state of the object or the photograph taking intention of a photographer, with a simple constitution by providing an irradiation intensity distribution changing means and an irradiation intensity distribution control means in the basic constitution of a flash device. SOLUTION: This flash device is provided with an irradiation intensity distribution changing means for changing the irradiation intensity of the illuminating light from a light emitting part to proper distribution, in which an asymmetric state is included and the irradiation intensity distribution control means, to drive and control the irradiation intensity distribution changing means in accordance with object information. For instance, when subjects M1 and M2 are positioned in the back and in the front (1-1 and 1-2), the center of irradiation intensity distribution 300 is laid over the object M2 on the back side, and the irradiation intensity for the object M1 on the front side is set weak and that for the object M2 on a far side is set strong. When plural objects M1-M6 and M1-M9 are arrayed (1-3 and 1-4), the irradiation intensity distribution 300 is set, so as to obtain the irradiation intensity respectively suitable in accordance with the distance of each object. |
