PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering a path at generation of a ring failure in a communication transoceanic ring. SOLUTION: This ring includes plural nodes and a protective fiber or channel, and an operation fiber or channel. The first path is obtained as a unidirectional path set through the operation fiber between a source node and plural destination nodes, and at least one of the nodes is turned into a node adjacent to a ring failure at generation of a failure. This method includes a step for executing a bridge operation in the source node, so that the path can be transmitted in the direction opposite to the first path direction even on the protective fiber and a step for removing the node which is adjacent to the ring failure, and for executing a switching and continuing operation, that is, a drop and continuing operation at each designation node which can no longer receive the path any more due to the failure.
