CHANNEL DECODER FOR DIGITAL BROADCAST RECEIVER

PURPOSE: A channel decoder for digital broadcast receiver is provided to reduce the energy consumption of a digital broadcast receiver and the resource of a central processing unit which is required in the digital broadcast receiver. CONSTITUTION: A decoder has a synchronous byte detector(7). The byte detector(7) displays a state where a digital broadcast receiver is locked by one broadcast channel and supplies a locking detection output signal used as a feed forward signal and/or feed back signal. Then, the processing circuit of a front stage and/or a post stage in the synchronous byte detector(7) is switched to a different mode according to whether the digital broadcast receiver is in a locked state or a non-locked state.
