The invention relates to a front-loading dishwasher (1), comprising a dishwashing receptacle (5) and a door (2) which is mounted onto the machine body and which can be pivoted about a horizontal axis, in order to close a loading opening of the dishwashing receptacle (5). The inner wall (3) of said door engages with its base edge, which forms a door lip (4), behind a receptacle flange (7) which extends upwards from the base (6) of the dishwashing receptacle in the area of the lower edge of the loading opening. Said inner wall terminates at a distance from the dishwashing receptacle base (6). A seal (10) is located between the door (2) and the dishwashing receptacle (5) which is configured as a sealing strip (11) that extends across the entire width of the door. The invention aims to produce a dishwasher of this type in a simple manner, in which a flawless seal and the prevention of dirt deposits in the sealing area are guaranteed over a long period of use and minimum effort is required to operate the door (2). To this end, guiding and fixing elements (20) are provided to maintain the seal (10) in the static position and to guide the seal (10) during the operation of the door (2).
