PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive protective clip and protective pipe for preventing thread line damages on the main drum body of a loom. SOLUTION: This protective clip 1 is applied to the main drum of a loom in which a waft yarn pulled out of a yarn feed unit is pulled out through a pin installed in a pin-inserting hole 38 of the surface of drum 32 after wound up around the circular surface of the drum 32 having almost a circular form. The clip is almost U-shaped and installed to be nipping to an almost circular arc wall of the drum 32 constituting the drum surface of the main drum 3. The weft yarn is wound on the upper piece 11 of the clip 1.
